The Essex Golf & Country Club Hotel
The Essex Golf and Country Club Hotel is set on the outskirts of Colchester. Its location is ideal, being just a 30 minute drive from Stansted Airport and just a 10 minute drive from local links to London. The Hotel boasts 42 spacious En Suite bedrooms, comprising of Twins, Doubles and Suites. Many of these rooms offer magnificent views over the Championship golf course. All rooms offer flat screen Television, the Suites offer a 40 Smart TV with built in WiFi to access apps such as Netflix, BBC iPlayer, ITV Player etc, all standard rooms have Freeview channels, Tea & Coffee making facilities, Hairdryer and complimentary toiletries. A wake up service is also available on request. Wireless Internet Hotspot is available free of charge. To request interconnecting rooms, or additional Cots or Zed Beds for children please contact Laterooms to arrange or call us directly. All residents receive complimentary use of the Swimming Pool, Sauna, Steamroom, Jacuzzi and Gymnasium. Reduced rates are also offered for Tennis court hire and Golf. Championship Course
The Essex Golf & Country Club has an impressive array of golf facilities to meet your bespoke needs, and help you gain or improve your handicap. Opened in 1990 and designed by Reg Plumridge, The Essex's 18 Hole Championship Golf Course has already won critical acclaim for its challenging yet fair features, conditions and presentation. Since its launch, many changes and improvements have been made to the 18 hole Country Course. One of the finest golf courses in Essex, our 18 Hole Championship Course has excellent drainage, and benefits from a fully computerised irrigation system fed by the clubs own 13 million gallon reservoir. As a result, the course remains open virtually every day of the year. Water features at the 5th, 6th, 7th and 9th holes require thought and accuracy, careful study of this course guide is recommended when playing holes 12, 13 and 14, and then on to the finish of two par 5's! With 14 lakes and strategically placed bunkering the course provides a constant choice of shots for golfers of all standards.

9 Hole Course
Located within the grounds of The Essex Golf & Country Club, our excellently-kept 9 hole garden course is made up of small tricky greens, offering you a location of scenic beauty to practise golf and improve your game. If you are looking to learn to play golf, our Short Course combined with our Driving Range and Professional Golf Lessons, are perfect for a beginner golfer to get some practise before taking to our critically acclaimed 18 Hole Championship Course. If you are an advanced golfer, this Par 3 Course is also a perfect accompaniment to your membership and offers a completely different challenge. It is ideal for when you are time constrained or want to practise your short game. Regular golfers will be particularly impressed by the standard of greens, tees and fairways on this 2,200 yard Garden Course. Its tightly guarded greens, tricky par 4's and attractive par 3's present an intriguing and popular challenge to beginners and advanced golfers alike.
