Golf clubs

The Club was founded on 10th November 1891 and is the third oldest in Essex. The original course was situated at Chapel Farm on the outskirts of Braintree. An inaugural meeting was held on Monday 16th November 1891 when it was agreed 'to accept an offer of three fields. Its Par 70 parkland course features tight tree lined fairways, water hazards and fast true greens, and is widely considered to be one of the finest in the county by amateurs and professionals alike, and currently enjoys 9th place in the top 100 golf courses in Essex. Away from the course they have a beautiful modern clubhouse, with excellent facilities including the main restaurant, two bars, a function room and panoramic views over the golf course from the patio.
