Clift Guest House is ideally located for exploring Bristol or enjoying the many festivals, sporting events and entertainments that occur in the city. Brunel 's famous ship, the SS Great Britain is just 12 mins walk away. From there you can either enjoy a walk along the Harbourside or catch a ferry a short distance to reach the centre of Bristol. There you will find many attections including the M Shed museum, Bristol, Bristol Aquarium & Bristol Cathedral. The tourist information centre is next to the Cascade Steps on the city centre where you will find details of all the Bristol 's attractions, maps & guided tours for exploring Bristol including the Banksy street art walking tour. Bristol is made up of a series of distinct neighbourhoods, each with its own unique character and charm. One of which is North Street which runs through Southville and Bedminster. This is just a 6 minute walk from the house and worth a visit if you are looking for a variety of interesting independent shops, cafes, pubs & restaurants. It 's also not far to explore the elegant Georgian architecture of Clifton Village and its iconic attractions, the Clifton Suspension Bridge and Bristol Zoo Gardens. Both Bristol City Football and Bristol Rugby play their home games at the nearby Ashton Gate Stadium, just a 5 minute walk from the house. Bristol Rovers are based at the Memorial Ground in north Bristol which is close to Gloucester Road for pubs and restaurants before or after the game. The Gloucestershire Cricket team are also based on the north side of Bristol at the County Ground. As well as the independent shops to be explored on North Street, Gloucester Rd, Christmas Steps and Clifton Village you will find all the major stores at the Bristol Shopping Quarter in the city centre or at The Mall at Cribbs Causeway just a few miles out of town. One way to get a real sense of what 's produced locally is to head to one of the markets in Bristol. Many of these are located alongside the historic St Nicholas Market which is open daily At the weekend seek out The Harbourside Market (Saturday & Sunday) or The Tobacco Factory Market (Sunday) for a great atmosphere and the best in local food, drink and crafts. You will never be short of live music, dance, theatre, comedy or magic performances during your visit to Bristol the packed schedules from the various venues means there is something to see nearly every night of the week.The guest house is well located for attending performances at the Bristol Hippodrome, Bristol Old Vic, Tobacco Factory Theatres, Colston Hall and the O2 Academy to name just a few. During the summer months Bristol becomes a festival city, with events most weekends. PARKING There is on-street metered parking with restrictions & charges applicable Mon-Fri 9am - 5pm. During these times you will need to park in a Pay & Display zone (nearest is Frayne Road). The first 30 mins is free after which it 's £1 per hour, up to 3 hours. After 5pm & at the weekends on-street parking is free & available right outside the property.
