Kilmichael House in Drumnadrochit (Near LOCH NESS) is a lovely Victorian House set back from the road, standing alone in its own grounds surrounded by giant Redwood Sequoia trees. In days gone by, the house was the home of the village doctor and his surgery was in a shed to the rear of the property (still standing today). Today Kilmichael House, has been sympathetically converted into a very comfortable home from home in the highlands with many of the period features of the public rooms retained i.e. window shutters, fireplaces, arch ways, and last but not least the open reception hall with a rather nice elegant staircase to the first floor. Kilmichael House is fully centrally heated, with ample car parking and is NON SMOKING THROUGHOUT THE PROPERTY. We do not accommodate Children under the age of 14 and there are no play areas within our grounds. All four bedrooms are located on the first floor and either have garden views or views across open fields to the hills beyond. They also offer flexible accommodation options (but do not accommodate extra beds or cots), three are en-suite whilst the fourth (small double) has its own separate bathroom. All the bedrooms are bright and tastefully furnished and equipped with beverage trays, mineral water, hairdryers, flat screen free sat TV/DVD/RADIO (small selection of DVD 's are available for guests) and free wi-fi internet access. Please note that our family room can also be used for twin/double occupancy - availability rice on request. Visitors should be aware that we operate a strict NO FOOD policy in our bedrooms / premises other than, what we provide on our beverage trays, nor do we provide cooking facilities. Guests should be aware that charges will apply for any damages or removal of property from the premises including room keys etc. Set yourself up for the day with a great healthy breakfast from our varied Continental breakfast menu (see your booking details for additional breakfast charges) - Fresh Fruit Juice (not from concentrate), Fresh Fruit, Selection of Cereals, Muselli, Cheese / Ham Selection, warm croissants, Where ever possible, I use fresh local/Scottish free range/organic produce i.e. local handbaked bakery bed and last but not least my own homemade jams/marmalades. Hot options are available on request at a supplement charge. For wallkers and cyclists we are about 500 metres from the Great Glen Way and drying/storage facilities are available. For all our visitors the centre of the village is no more than half a mile away and you can enjoy traditional bill of fayre from Scotland 's larder, in the warm, friendly surroundings of Fiddlers Restaurant and award winning Malt Whisky Bar (over 600 to choose from - you could be there a while!). A little further away is the Loch Ness Inn where once again, good food and friendly staff are waiting to look after you. If real ales are your tipple then the Benleva is the place to be (also popular with the locals). They also have their own micro brewery and run a popular beer festival annually. Kilmichael House is the ideal base to enjoy the many activities available in the area - ranging from boat trips on the beautiful mysterious LOCH NESS, horse riding, walking, cycling as well as the must sees - military museum at Fort George, Culloden Battlefield, pre-historic Clava Cairns, fairy tale Brodie Castle, stunning countryside with spectacular scenery - the list just goes on and on.
