The Salisbury Hotel is a luxury contemporary styled georgian townhouse hotel in the cosmopolitan Southside and close to the Old Town, Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle and Edinburgh University. A range of room types are available from single, double, superior doubles and twins, family and four poster. Ground floor rooms are available, whilst many have lovely views to the magnificent walled gardens. All guestrooms feature crisp white linen, fluffy towels, plasma-televisions, iPod docking stations, hairdryers and welcome trays. There is private parking and the Salisbury is easily accessible by car from all the main routes in the City and is located just 1.5 miles from Waverley Train Station the main bus route is a mere 2 minutes walk from the Salisbury making it convenient to get around the entire city. Gabbro restaurant is located at garden level with direct access to the beautiful walled gardens - featuring an excellent array of dishes and always featuring local and Scottish produce - popular with locals and very family friendly. There are many interesting shops and bars and the Queens Hall and Festival Theatre are 10 minutes away. Guests can enjoy the lounge area to relax in after a day exploring the City or to retire to after the children are sleeping in bed. Edinburgh Airport : Leave airport and at roundabout take left - follow signs for Edinburgh City Centre this takes you out of the Airport and onto approach road for A8 A8: Follow signs for Edinburgh city and join A8 main approach road Get into Left Hand Lane and follow signs for A720 city bypass / Carlisle (main roundabout) At roundabout be in the right hand lane as you will take 3rd exit onto A720 A720 City Bypass: Once on the City Bypass stay on and do not leave until you reach the Sheriffhall roundabout = you will pass the following: Hermiston Junction Dreghorn Junction Lothianburn Junction Straiton Junction Lasswade Junction Gilmerton Junction SheriffHall Roundabout: Approach in Left Hand Lane Take left at the roundabout A7 City Centre / Hospital Stay on this road for approx 6 miles do not come off You will approach the Cameron Toll Roundabout with a Toyota Garage on Right Hand Side Get into Right Hand Lane Cameron Toll Roundabout Right Hand Lane. Take 3rd exit (go right around the roundabout and back under the rail bridge, taking the first left (signposted Edinburgh Centre/A7) for Dalkeith Road Dalkeith Road (Road initially named Cameron Crescent) Travel for about 1 mile, passed the shops on LHS to traffic lights. Go straight through these and through the next set of Traffic Lights and drive for approx 2 miles up the hill. When you reach the traffic lights by the commonwealth pool (on the right), turn left onto Salisbury Road.
