Hawkstone Park offers you the opportunity to play two of the finest 18 hole golf courses in the West Midlands (Hawkstone & Championship) and a 6-hole Academy course set in an English Heritage Grade 1 landscape. The three courses are situated in 400 acres of undulating parkland surrounding the ruins of a medieval castle with the cliffs of the world-famous 18th Century Follies providing a spectacular backdrop. The Golf Centre has an extensive retail shop, changing rooms and the Terrace Bar & Restaurant, open every day with a wide menu choice and panoramic views of both courses. The Historic Park and Follies is a much loved tourist attraction created in the 18th Century and offers a delightful day out for the family. A range of outdoor activities can be arranged including treasure hunts, clay shooting and team building days. The hotel offers 66 en-suite bedrooms and five function suites are available, the largest seating up to 200 guests. The Hawkstone Restaurant is open each evening.
The famous par 72, 6497 yard Hawkstone Course is one of the truly great Championship Golf Courses in the country and has been attracting golfers since 1920. Designed by James Braid, the course provides challenging, yet enjoyable golf, set against the breathtaking and dramatic sandstone cliffs, with their world-famous follies. This grade 1 listed landscape creates a spectacular backdrop to the course. A traditional parkland design, with fairways lined with mature oak and birch. The scenery is a major draw, but the challenges offered by the par 72, 6497 yard course should never be underestimated. The 10th and 12th signature holes are sure to leave a lasting impression.
The Championship Course is, as its name suggests, a par 72, 6763 yard championship course, designed by former Ryder Cup captain Brian Huggett and opened in 1995. The course design includes Americanstyle features; such as oval tees, rolling fairways with mounds, water hazards and large, gently undulating greens. The course provides a variety of challenges whatever your standard of play. The windmill, visible from the 16th hole and built in the late 18th century, is where the course originally took its name. Host to the Mastercard Tour and Euro Pro Tour for four years from 1988, the course changed its name in 2006 to what we now know to be The Championship.
The Academy is a 6 hole, 729-yard par 3 course, which offers plenty of challenges to beginners and intermediate players. More experienced golfers will also find the course ideal as a quick warm-up or an opportunity to work on their short game. In addition to the Academy course, players can enjoy the use of a 15-bay practice range, two large putting greens, a chipping green and a practice bunker with pitching area. *Open air 15-bay driving range *2 large putting greens *Chipping green *Bunker and pitching practice areas Bookings via the golf shop
