Foxhills Golf Club Established in 1975 it have 18 golf course Foxhills takes its name from the brilliant but mercurial 18th century politician Charles James Fox Foxhills is home to two 18 hole Championship golf courses – Bernard Hunt and Longcross - as well as one of the country’s first par three 9 hole courses, the Manor. Whether you are looking for a quick 9 holes or a leisurely 18 hole round, you will enjoy some of the country’s best kept greens and picturesque fairways.
A challenging course for club golfers, the Bernard Hunt course features a 445-yard par 4 10th hole which plays downhill before sweeping uphill to a green protected by two bunkers. Keep your tee shot to the left of the fairway for the best angle into the green, which slopes wickedly from back right to front left. The 18th hole starts with a 446-yard dogleg which members call Cardiac Hill before finishing on the perfectly manicured spacious green, shared with its sister course, Longcross. The course was home to the Senior PGA Professional Championship final round in 2014 and 2015, and was named in the Next 100 top golf courses in England by Golf World in 2015.
Surrounded by Scots pine, beech and silver birch trees, the Longcross is one of Surrey’s top tree-lined golf courses. Its 14th hole was voted by BBC Radio 5 Live s one of the greatest holes ever played, while the course was also named in the top 100 golf courses in England in 2015. The 408-yard par 4 first hole sets the tone for your round and is particularly tricky for wild hitters; fire your drive between a funnel of trees, then negotiate two bunkers which protect the front of the green. The final hole is uphill, with a large tree narrowing the fairway for your second shot. After a partially blind approach shot, you can reach the green shared with Bernard Hunt’s 18th in view of the Clubhouse.
A firm favourite with members and our resident golf professionals, The Manor course is a par three 9 hole and one of the most beautiful short courses in the country. Located at the front of the club, you first catch a glimpse as you head up the drive and look towards the 19th century Manor House. With Championship standard design, created by former Ryder Cup Captain and Foxhills’ professional, Bernard Hunt, MBE, The Manor is a great place to fall in love with golf, refine your game, or enjoy a quick 9 holes with the family. Used by the Foxhills’ golf coaches for member clinics, do not be fooled into thinking this is an easy option; the tricky course helped hone the skills of European Tour star Paul Casey as a junior member, and has hosted the finals of the prestigious PGA Junior Championships.
