Dating back to 1919 – predating the hotel by five years – the King’s Course has stood the test of time, remaining a challenge for both professionals and amateurs alike. The game of golf has changed substantially since this course was originally designed, but its emphatic design and the way it has been updated has kept it one of the most stunning courses in the country.
Tom Watson and Johnny Miller – just two of the famous names that have played the Queen’s Course of the years, making this so much more than just our third course. Sitting on the northern and western sides of our estate, the Queen’s Course takes in high ridges, water hazards, woodland and ditches, showing off the natural beauty of the area – but do not let that deceive you, this is a challenging course with plenty of surprises in store.
With a par of 73, the PGA Centenary Course is a perennial favourite. A Championship course to rival the best it started out as the Monarch’s Course, before a redesign by legendary golfer and course architect, Jack Nicklaus, back in 1993. It was renovated further 2011, in anticipation of the Ryder Cup coming to Gleneagles, ensuring a spectacular course for years to come. Today the course is one to challenge the best and thrill anyone who plays on it – truly a course for the players.
