Situated on Queen Street in the centre of the city. City Stay Edinburgh is in a terraced Georgian Townhouse overlooking Queen Street Gardens with views out over the new town to fife. We are parallel to the famous George Street with many restaurants, bars and clubs. There is also Rose Street, with it 's shops, bars and restaurants. A walk to Princes Street takes you to the main shopping area of the city centre. Here you will find Princes Street Gardens, a great place for views of Edinburgh Castle sat on the Castle Rock overlooking the city centre. You will also find the National Galleries of Scotland here. The Royal Mile is a 10 minute walk away, starting at the castle you can stroll down The Mile with historic Edinburgh all around, from delving into Mary King 's Close buried under the city to St Giles Cathedral and the Heart of Midlothian, and on down to the Scottish Parliament and the Palace of Holyrood. Once here you can choose to climb Arthur 's Seat or walk along the crags with stunning views of the whole city and beyond to Fife in the North or the Borders in the South. Our hostel is a 5 minute walk from both train and bus stations. City Tour buses leave from just around the corner, both open top and enclosed, so no need to worry about the Scottish weather getting in the way of your sightseeing. Accommodation comprises of one eight bed dorm and three ten bed dorms with ensuite facilities on the first and second floors. On the ground floor we have a 10 bed dorm with shared shower and bathroom. In the lower ground floor we have a chill out room with TV, games, books and the all important beer fridge (beer not supplied). Our staff are always willing to answer any questions and provide information on the local area, where to eat, where to explore the history and of course where enjoy some lively night life. Our staff can book you on to the Pub Crawl, advise where to meet the guides for the excellent free walking tour of Edinburgh. However for the more adventurous we can book you on tours which will take you north, deep in to the highlands of Scotland or out to the Isles. Stag and Hen groups (or any one with numbers over 4 can enjoy a 20% discount off the a la carte menu at the Jam House with Free Entry too). Just ask. The lower ground floor also has a kitchen and common area. Guests can cook, eat, or just chill out. You ll find a variety of games and a book exchange to pass the evenings, if you are to tired from exploring the city to go out and enjoy the lively night life.
