The Sun Inn

Built in 1750AD the Sun is associated with the history of its local town Eastwood, from the famous meetings in 1832 that saw the birth of the Midland Railway or with that of our locally renowned author D.H Lawrence, it is included in his famous novel Sons and Lovers and many of the features that are mentioned are still in place today enhancing the culture of the Sun Inn and its location. Our prominent location and beautiful exterior make us a feature building in Eastwood. The Sun Inn was visited as part of the Pentrich Revolution which was the last peasants uprising and occurred in 1817, the men involved were apprehended by a detachment of the King 's Hussars in nearby Giltbrook. We are ideally located close to the M1 J26 with close links to Nottingham and Derby city centres. Special rates available for travelling coach parties including football supporters (please call to advise in advance) We have 15 newly refurbished rooms with free wi-fi available throughout the building. Breakfast is available from 7am and the main menu from 10am 10pm. The bar opens to serve alcohol from 8am. Coach trips welcome. We have conference facilities available, FREE room hire and buffets and working lunches are also available from £3.99 per person. We are Best Bar None and Cask Marque accredited.
