Maidencombe Holiday Cottages presents Penny Farthings, a romantic self-contained first floor apartment with lounge, double bedroom, bathroom, fitted kitchen and entrance hall accessed by its own staircase settled neatly into this chocolate box cottage in the heart of rural Maidencombe, near Torquay. You will be only a couple of minutes walk from the nearest beach with coastal and country walks and views right on your doorstep. Maidencombe is a quiet village home to The Thatched Tavern pub with its award winning beer garden to enjoy in the summer months and its log burners, pies and brown beer to warm you in the winter. You will also find The Orestone Manor a fine dining restaurant at the top of the village, and during the summer months a beach café that makes homemade cakes. Choose to relax in the apartment with TV, DVD, plenty of board games or in the cottages garden, village pub, restaurant, beach or country walks. Guest all love the location of this quaint Art Deco cottage. So whether you are an Artist, Nature Lover, Dog Walker, Swimmer, Foodie, Golf Fanatic, Fisherman etc. or just a plain romantic we feel sure that you will find this an ideal holiday let. There is ample dining space for three as well as an extendable table with more seating available on request. The lounge space is for up to four people and has free-sat television, free WIFI, and a DVD player. The kitchen has a ceramic hob, electric oven and grill, fridge, microwave, plenty of utensils and lots of cupboard space. Penny Farthing has its own private stairs/entrance and hallway with storage cupboards. The bathroom has a bath but no shower. Guests are welcome to use the front and side gardens. The flat has gas central heating and hot water. Linen, bedding and towels are provided. Guests have use of a shared washing machine, tumble dryer and washing line in the downstairs utility area. There is lots of free parking is available around the village as well as a free pass to use the beach car park ensuring guaranteed parking all year round. We are pet friendly and always welcome well behaved clean pets at no extra charge. The beach and local pub are also doggie friendly, and there are plenty of places to walk nearby. Torquay and Teignmouth are the closest towns, and you will find plenty of top restaurants and eateries in both. You will find a guide to the local restaurants waiting for you in the cottage when you arrive. There are lots of activities for kids in the surrounding towns - try a day out at Kent 's Cavern the world famous prehistoric caves or the fabulous Paignton Zoo. For the adventurous there is Splashdown Water Park, Woodlands Adventure Park, Crealy World of Adventures, and Go Ape. For walkers and dog owners Penny Farthings is situated on the South West costal path or if you are a fan of the moors Dartmoor is only a 30 minute drive away. A car is by far the most convenient but buses and taxis are available. This is a non-smoking thatched property, but smoking is allowed in the garden. Be warned that mobile phone coverage is almost non-existent in the village - so you really can escape from it all. We do however have free wifi throughout the apartment.
