By Car Sheffield is well served by public transport and it has excellent links with the rest of the UK. If you choose to travel by car, please be aware that parking is limited at Halifax and cannot be guaranteed. You can park at Halifax, subject to availability, and must display a conference permit available from your event organiser. There is also some on street parking, but please pay attention to any parking restrictions. From the north, south and east (M1, M18) Approach Sheffield on the M1 and leave the motorway at Junction 33, following the City Centre signs along the dual carriageway A630/A57/A61 Parkway for approximately 10 minutes. At Park Square move into the second lane and take the third exit sign posted A61(S), along Sheaf Street. Following the Ring Road and University signs, turn right onto St Mary s Road/A61. At the roundabout go straight on. At the next roundabout take the first exit onto Ecclesall Road. Continue along Ecclesall Road and at the next roundabout, take the fourth exit onto Brocco Bank and turn left when you reach Endcliffe Vale Road. Halifax is located on the right approximately 200 metres down the road. From the west (A57 Snake Pass) Follow the City Centre signs. About 300 metres after the BP filling station, turn right into Shore Lane. At the bottom, turn right and the take your second left onto Endcliffe Vale Road. Halifax is about 400 metres on your left. From Sheffield Train Station and the City Centre Sheffield is at the heart of the railway network. Regular services operate between Sheffield and London St Pancras (2 hours), Birmingham (1 hours), Leeds (1 hour), Manchester (1 hour) and Nottingham (1 hour). The Sheffield bus interchange is a short walk away from the train station. Bus The Endcliffe Village is well served by public transport with frequent bus services to and from the City Centre. Taxi There are taxi ranks at the Railway Station and the City Hall. The journey to Halifax can take up to 20 minutes at busy times and you can expect to pay around £8.
