The 19th-century New Inn offers 3 -star accommodation near London Zoo, Regents Park and Lord 's Cricket Ground. St John 's Wood Underground Station and Primrose Hill are less than 8 minutes walk away and Wembley stadium is only 16 minutes directly on the Jubilee line. All bedrooms are comfortably furnished, with en suite facilities. Bedrooms also have free Wi-Fi internet access and a Freeview TV. This local favourite originally built in 1810 has undergone a complete makeover, the perfect place to mix with friends. It really is St. John 's Wood finest Gastro Pub. From Heathrow Airport There are three options to travel from Heathrow. There is the underground, take the Piccadilly line to Green Park and then the Jubilee Line to St Johns Wood (takes about 1 hour) and costs £4 for a single or £7 for a one day travel card (if you are going to use London Transport for a few days ask about an Oyster Card, the clerk should advise you which will be the most cost effective), this way is ok if not much luggage but can be awkward as there is no storage space and hard going up and down and changing lines. It also depends on what time ( avoid rush hour). As you come out of St Johns Wood station turn to your left and walk down Acacia Road, take the last turning on your right Townshend Road and to the end and we are on the corner (10 minutes walk). There is also the Heathrow Express which is a train in to Paddington Station which takes about 20 minutes and cost approx £14 per person. From there you would need to take the Bakerloo line to Baker Street and then on to the Jubilee line as before, or take a black taxi that will charge about £10 ( can be big queues). There is also a airport taxi company recommended by another guest who you pre book with via their web site. The cost is approx £29 plus car parking £2.30 first half hour, £3.90 per hour. This is for two people and two bags. Their web site is www.airportexecutive.co.uk. You can return either way back to Heathrow, The taxi company charge £25 approx back to the airport. All prices are approximate as there have been big petrol price increases here. From Gatwick Airport There are three ways from Gatwick Airport, a taxi which quoted £52 plus car parking (very expensive). The Gatwick Express into Victoria Station, costs single £16.90, return £28.80 takes 30 minutes and then a black taxi which will cost about £15 (this option might be preferable if you have lots of luggage) or the tube Victoria line to Green Park and then change to the Jubilee line to St Johns Wood. The other option which I have used is take a train from Gatwick to London Bridge which costs £8.90 single takes 28 minutes and then take the underground Jubilee line to St Johns Wood (you don t have to change on this route and takes about 20 mins). When you buy your ticket you should be able to buy the underground one too. Check with the agent what is best for you if you are going to use it again that day and for the rest of your stay. When you come out of St Johns Wood station turn to your left and walk down Acacia Road. Take the last turning on your right Townsend Road and we are at the end on the corner. It is about a ten minute walk. All prices are approximate as they may have gone up. From Luton Airport To transfer from Luton Airport to the New Inn take the Greenline coach 757 that stops in St Johns Wood. It costs £12 approx one way and £17 approx return per person and runs every 12-15 minutes. Go to www.arrivabus.co.uk and click on Greenline 757. It stops at Wellington Road opposite Lords Cricket Ground. As you get off walk back up the road you have just come down and take the first turning on your right Wellington Place. Walk to the end and turn left, this is St Johns Wood High Street. Walk until you see NatWest and Café Rouge, this is Allitsen Road. Walk to the end and we are on the corner. This is a 5 to 10 minute walk. From Stansted Airport There are two options to travel from Stansted Airport to the New Inn. The first is the Stansted Express train (www.stanstedexpress.com), this takes you into Liverpool Street station and then you would need to take the underground using the Circle, Metropolitan or Hammersmih & City line to Baker Street then change on to the Jubilee Line to St Johns Wood Station. As you come out of the station you turn to your left and walk down Acacia Road, take the last turning on your right Townshend Road and to the end and we are on the corner, this is a ten minute walk.
