The relaxed café atmosphere creates a warm welcome to The Clifton Hotel, and that, along with the location makes it an ideal base for exploring Bristol. The grade II listed building is situated in Clifton within walking distance of boutique shopping in Clifton Village, bars and restaurants on Park street and tourist attractions such as the zoo and suspension bridge. Traditionally decorated en-suite rooms retain many original features such as floor to ceiling windows and are finished with a complimentary hospitality tray including fresh tea and coffee, fresh fruit and biscuits. With a 24 hour reception and links with local companies offering spa packages and days out you can be sure your needs are catered for at any time. In terms of dining the hotel is home to Caffe Clifton serving a range of teas and coffees, cakes, snacks and lunches and is the perfect place to sit and relax with the morning paper. Racks our bar and restaurant is a popular venue serving seasonally inspired home made meals and a range of drinks as well as our morning breakfast with the option of dining inside by the fire or out in the sunshine! Due to the popular on-site bar and restaurant with outdoor terrace, some rooms can suffer from noise - this is mostly, but not exclusively at weekends. From M5 Exit the M5 at junction 19 (Gordano Services) and follow heritage signs to the toll bridge (Clifton Suspension Bridge). Go over the suspension bridge (you will need 50p in silver) and carry straight on until you reach a mini roundabout. Turn right at the roundabout onto Clifton Down Road and the fifth left onto Merchants road. Follow the road around Victoria Square and down Queen s Road. At the double roundabout, take the second left into St Paul s Road. You will find the Clifton Hotel on your right. From M4 Leave the M4 at junction 19 and go directly onto the M32 into Bristol. At the end of the M32, get into the right hand lane at the last set of traffic lights. Turn right at the lights and stay in the middle lane, following signs to the Bus Station and Clifton, until you reach a large roundabout (James Barton roundabout). Take the second exit and drive up the hill and you will pass the Bus Station on your left. Stay on Park Row until it joins Park Street and becomes Queen s Road. Continue straight and you will reach the Triangle. Stay in the right hand lane as you pas La Tasca restaurant on your left. Move into the left lane as you rejoin Queen s Road until you pass the Victoria Rooms and a fountain on your left, which will bring you onto Whiteladies Road
