Nestling under the South Downs The Royal Eastbourne Golf Club offers all golfers from the beginner to the low handicapper, a great golfing experience. Set within 130 acres of chalk downland with panoramic views in every direction, the beautifully maintained greens and fairways of the Devonshire course (18 holes) and the Hartington course (9 holes) provide the perfect environment for golf. Built on chalk with excellent drainage the courses are rarely closed enabling quality golf to be played throughout the year. The club was founded in 1887. The 100 year-old Devonshire Course is named after The Duke of Devonshire and it provides an attractive combination of parkland and downland with outstanding views across Eastbourne and eighteen different, but challenging holes. The Hartington Course, named after the Marquis of Hartington, is a 9-hole challenging course prepared to the same standard as The Devonshire.
