Golf clubs

The Club was founded in 1891 and is proud of its traditions as a village club. In fact the Centenary Captain suggested that its club with some justification might be called "the finest village golf club in the Country".


It has been described as "a miniature Gleneagles" and can be found above the picturesque village of Kilmacolm in Renfrewshire some fifteen minutes from Glasgow International Airport.



On the occasion of its centenary Bernard Gallacher, who succeeded Tony Jacklin as Captain of the European Ryder cup team, played an exhibition match, and afterwards wrote It was "a joy to play over your inland moorland course with all its heather, whins, bracken and fine backgrounds of fir trees." Belle Robertson, the renowned Scottish lady golfer lists Kilmacolm as one of her ten favourite Scottish Golf courses.
