Founded in 1922 The East Renfrewshire Golf Club, or East Ren as it is known, is one of the finest moorland courses in Scotland. The course was designed by James Braid and has all the features one associates with a Braid designed course with elevated tees, undulating fairways and plateau greens. Although initially without trees the course now features a variety of trees and these line many of the fairways. At just over 6000 yards (6107 yards) it may not appear long in to-days world of 7000 yard monsters it is undoubtedly a golfers course with thought and care required on every shot and being set high the strength of the wind can change the club selection or choice of shot dramatically.
